This is an on-going series in which the second book, Onyx, was just recently released.

Katy (just like myself) is an avid reader and a total book lover. She does a blog on the books she has read and occasionally a vlog. She just recently moved to a new town with her mom after the passing of her father. Katy takes refuge in gardening and reading her paranormal romance books until the day her neighbors make an appearance. Daemon is a swoon-worthy guy and his twin sister, Dee, is just as beautiful. Daemon begins torturing Katy with his crude and uncalled for words after Katy befriends his precious little sister. As time goes by, Katy begins to realize there is something odd about Daemon and Dee.

One day, she is attacked by a man dressed in all black. Daemon comes to her rescue and kills the strange man, leaving a HUGE target on Katy’s head. He gave her a trace. Now she is visible to everyone that is trying to get to Daemon and Dee. Visible to all the other ALIENS. Yep, it’s an alien book, BUT a good one. (Not the cheesy green-skinned-fish-eyed people) They are aliens that can travel at the speed of light and their true forms are that of a bright blue light in the shape of a human. But that’s all I am spilling, so pick up a copy and try out the idea of aliens…….hot aliens!!!!!!!

CAUTION: Hungry Book Addict! Graceling by Kristen Cashore

Gracling  is set in a world where parents fear that their baby’s eyes will change completely into two different colors. Once a baby’s eyes change they are then called a gracling and the King is notified. The King utilizes these kids as his own personal force to threaten others, to steal, or to do anything in which only a person with powers can come out alive.

In the first scene you are introduced to a gracling whose name is Katsa. Her ability allows her to kill a man with her bare hands, something she has been able to do since she was 8. She’s a likable character who is strong-willed and lets nothing stand in her way. With this ability to kill without a weapon she is scared beyond words but keeps her fear hidden from the King. While on one of her missions, Katsa runs into another gracelng called Po. WOW!  Po is not the best name but his character is swoon-worthy. His eyes are gold and silver and he is graced with combat skills. I can’t give away too much about him because it would kind of ruin the story.

THIS BOOK IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean I have re-read it over five times (my mom grounds me from buying books a lot so I am forced to look through old books.)  But even so, it’s one of my tops. The story is so unique and I have had no luck in finding one that comes anywhere close.  Graceling is full of adventure and has a great romance that knocks you to your knees. Now, this author has more books as part of this series but they are different characters, either in the past or future so, check out Fire and Bitterblue.
